Town of West Monroe Residents please take notice that the town board regular meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of the month, beginning at 6:30 for the auditing of the bills and at 7:00 PM for regular board business. The agenda for each meeting will be posted on the Town web site, www.townofwestmonroe-ny.us prior to each meeting. Anyone wishing to address the board must notify the Supervisor at least four days before the scheduled meeting.
The West Monroe Planning Board will hold their regular meeting at 7:30 PM on the 4th Wednesday of each month except Nov. & Dec., with additional meetings during the month of May, June & July on the second Thursday. The Nov/Dec. meeting will be held on December 5th
All of the above referenced meetings will be held at the West Monroe town hall, 46 Co. Rt. 11, West Monroe, NY

LEGAL NOTICE
TAKE NOTICE that I, Christine Shaw, the undersigned Collector of Taxes for the Town of West Monroe, County of Oswego, State of New York, have duly received the tax roll and warrant for the collection of taxes within the Town of West Monroe for the year 2012.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that I will received taxes at the West Monroe Town Hall, County Route 11, West Monroe, New York at the following times between January 3, 2012 and March 31, 2012:
During January: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM
February and March: Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM through 4:00 PM
Friday 9:00 AM until 12 noon
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes may be paid in full, or in a first installment equal to 50% of the total tax due, on or before February 2, 2012 without charges or interest. For all taxes received after such date, including a second installment for the amount due on the remaining balance, there shall be added interest at the rate of 1 percent for the first month (February) and an additional 1 percent for the second month (March). If no payment is made on the taxes or if the second installment is not made to the undersigned by March 31, 2012, the tax roll of the Town of West Monroe will be returned to the Oswego County Treasurer on April 1, 2012 and other applicable notices shall be provided as required by law.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that if a taxpayer has elected to pay in installments and the second payment is not made to the undersigned by March 31, 2012, the second installment, with appropriate interest and/or charges, must be paid to the Oswego County Treasurer by no later than June 30, 2012.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that unless a first installment of at least 50% of the taxes due is paid on or before March 31, 2012, a taxpayer shall not be permitted to take such taxes in installments.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that any real property taxes paid by an escrow agent must be paid in full without use of the installment payment option.

WEST MONROE RESIDENTS, please be advised that the West Monroe Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 7:15 PM at the West Monroe Town Hall, 46 Co. Rt. 11, West Monroe, New York.
The purpose of this hearing will be to listen to all comments in regards to the application submitted by James Wight to construct a open a new Auto Repair, Sales and Service Shop to be located at 2931-2139 State Route 49, West Monroe. This public hearing is held in compliance with the West Monroe Commercial Site Plan Review Local Law.

The Town of West Monroe has received notice from the state Public Service Commission (PSC) that the PSC is planning changes to the 315 area code. These changes may involve changes to the boundaries of the 315 area code, resulting in new area codes being assigned.
June 2009 : The Public Service Commission has announced that it is putting on hold its proceeding to determine how best to create an additional area code in the 315 area code region.
